As the country begins to accept the Colorado massacre and the shock settles in, we must return to our everyday lives, but how? Twelve people were gunned down as they waited for the new Batman movie; their excitement and anticipation high, never knowing it would be their last moment. Some were celebrating birthdays, others sneaking out with their little ones. What I know about this country is that we are a compassionate people full of empathy and love, we always rally. The killer must not enter into our thoughts as we mourn the 12 and pray for those still fighting for their lives; his power must be eliminated. The praying, thoughts and questions are for the families who are left forever changed. The grief must be unimaginable; one minute you have a sister, brother, mother, father, uncle, aunt and the next you don’t, with no explanation or reason. These people were simply gunned down with no way to protect themselves. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

Thank you, Pam , for the words…..
Words were hard to find, Kate. Can’t quite digest it…..
Very nicely and simply said. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you.
Not much to say… it is one of those things where you could talk and talk for hours, but on the other hand, there are just no words… As I watch my 3 year old and my 5 year old and consider the simple, happy moments like going to a movie, I can’t comprehend what has happened to these people and their loved one’s. My thoughts and prayers go to each and every person affected by this tragedy, but a special (close to home prayer) to Ashley Moser who is currently fighting for her life, having been shot in the belly while pregnant. She lost a beautiful 6 year old little girl that night, but is fighting for her life and that of her unborn child…
So traumatic…brings me back to the strength of our spirits.
