What can a Yoga pose do for you?  Well, for starters, it can make you laugh.  Yes, if the name of the pose makes you crack a smile, just try getting into some of the poses!  The Five Pointed Star, Goddess, Lizard, Downward Facing Dog – some of the easier forms, but fun none the less!  Maybe they just feel great or maybe they are extremely hard and make you laugh out of pure exhaustion; either way, a pose can make you laugh. Why I Take the Pan Mass Challenge Personally

Over the past few weeks I have been covering the Barlows/Callahans, a family out of Newburyport, Massachusetts, that participates each year in the Pan Mass Challenge.  Many of the family members ride in the two day race to raise money for cancer research; those family members who don’t ride help raise money for the team.  The team is named Make Way For Molly, in honor of one of the youngest family members who suffered – and fully recovered from – a form of leukemia as a child.  Continue reading

Exercise and Fitness: A Family Affair

I participated in my first road race last weekend – the April fool’s 4 Mile race held at the Winner’s Circle in Salisbury, Mass.  The event was awesome and it was even better because I teamed up with my aunt Deb!  The atmosphere was great and the post-race party was a lot of fun (I swear, that sprint at the end had nothing to do with the free pizza and unlimited Smuttynose beer waiting for me at the finish line)!
